psx4iphone and gpSPhone status
Quick status report for psx4iphone and gpSPhone coming right at cha!
psx4iphone v1.0.0 currently does not work on any device with firmware greater than 3.0. I have a build that now works with newer firmwares and will be releasing it shortly. Hopefully tomorrow, but don’t hold me to it. 
gpSPhone currently works with all 2.x and 3.x firmwares on all devices. But there’s a catch. DevTeam messed up a kernel patch in the latest 3.1.x jailbreaks (confirmed by saurik) that affects only the iPhone 3g. If you have an iPhone 3g and use 3.1.x jailbroken with pwnagetool, there’s a fix for gpSPhone (as well as the upcoming psx4iphone). Simply run blackra1n on your current iPhone 3g firmware. It won’t erase anything or do any harm. It will however fix the issue at hand, and allow gpSPhone and the next psx4iphone to run.

Wait, I've heard of this thing, I'm on a 3.1.2 iPhone 3G, but even blackra1ning my device doesn't make gpSPhone work…

I've been wanting to try psx4iphone. I have an iPod touch 64GB. I jailbreaked it with blackra1n when it first came out; I'm running 3.1.2 and have never had problems with gpSPhone. Does this only affect iPhones?

But I had to load the full PC site in mobile safari because comments are not viewable on the mobile version of this site. This was a problem on another wordpress site I post to but they fixed it a long time ago. Just thought I’d let you know. Thanks and keep up the good work.

@Hackmodford yes that only effects the iPhones not the iPod touches.
the PSX4iPhone only works with a good speed, without leg, on 3GS

i was wondering why my games werent working 
snes4iphone is doing well. I am looking into alternatives to the RockApp version. Beyond the criticism it received for being made a commercial Rock app, it seems to be running nicely. It was hard to tell though, as bug reports were hard to find beneath all the crap.

Since a dynarec works by creating executable code on the fly (during runtime) it stores it in memory (the translation cache) and then executes it. Without the memory having permission from the OS to run, it simply crashes.
The DevTeam botched the iPhone 3g jailbreak for 3.x.x somehow and this is a side effect of it.
The blackra1n trick is only needed on the iPhone 3g running 3.1.x on pwnagetool.
For me Snes4iPhone works perfectly as of yet. I've tried a few games on it, but not for so long however.
The only thing worth complaining about is that you can't charge and jump at the same time on Megaman X, but other than that, everything seems nice.
Man, I sure am exited on the new version of PSX4iPhone. Any bugfixed other than compatibility? And what about performance? Does it run better than 0.8.0 (0.8.0 is the only version working on 3GS@3.1.2… never got to try 1.0.0).
I don't care if psx4iphone will cost when you release this new version. I'm gonna buy it immediately.

Are you planning on putting a price on psx4iphone like you did with gpSP and snes, or will it remain free. I know you said gpSP was going to be the only pay-app back in the days, but then snes came along, so could you clarify this?

Hi people, ive been trying to get gpsphone to work on my phone but the thing is it crashes.. and yes I have 3.1.2 and ive read that i need to blackrain it so here are the questions:
1) how do i blackrain it? (sorry for being a newb)

How do u save on ff7 for the 3gs 3.1.2
the psx4iphone Is now working and I played ff7 for about an hour then I tried saving 3 different ways to make sure it saved (save from last load, save to new file, and tried saving to memory card from a save point) but it said no memory card when I tried that and I know I added memory cards to my rom folder. So what am I doing wrong? Anyone know how to save on ff7?
You saved the state of the game, so you should be able to load it from the saved games tab @ the main screen of the emulator
I can't find GpSPhone on the Cydia store, can only find a free version that says "Don't support Zod!", which I cannot get to work, even after getting the bios file, etc. etc.

can you help me here? i got gpsphone and i have some roms but when i try to play them in landscape or portrait, the app just crashes and shows my springboard. i reinstall it but its still got the same problem.

If you already have jailbroken with pwnage tool and use Blackra1n to be able to use gpsphone, does it break Youtube and push like if you had jailbroken right from BlackRa1n?

does anyone know if golden sun 2 the lost age works on gpsphone'? ill buy it i guess only if gs2 tla work, because tahts really the only game i wanna play, i know osme zodipedia thing says it doesnt work but im not sure how old that compatibility list is, can someone check if it works for me? just watch the intro scene and it like restarts in the intro scene so just see if you can get past it and wow i jsut realized this thread is a month old

i have an iphone 3g which i jailbroke with blackra1n. gpsphone opens, then when i select a game it goes to black screen with the buttons overlayed for like 4 seconds and goes back to springboard.
then when i open it again, and go to options it has turned on scaling and turned off the other 3 options.
seeing as how the fix is supposedly to blackra1n your iphone and mine already is, is there something else i can try?

I have got a problem with psx4iphone !
I played FF7 about 10 hours ,did lots of saves (50 or 60) ,but at the end when i tried to save it was taking a lot of time ,so to clear a bit I removed the 40 oldest saves from my iphone to my computer and now ,when i try to save nothing happens !!
I can't save anymore (there is no new save appearing) .
Please could you explain me how to fix that ??

Got a question that's probably been asked a bunch of times already but here goes anyhow: why can't I get "Grand Theft Auto Advance" to work with GPSphone? It loads the start screens but then immediately crashes. This has happened with every rom I've tried. Anyone have any ideas on this?

I have read all the comments and about 50 people complained about the same thing and I have not seen even a single sugestion. I have the same problem that 30% of the people that have commented have:

I jailbroke using blackrain, then I entered the source on cydia downloaded gpsPhone, downloaded the bios thingy and when I choose any of my downloaded roms it asks me about sound, portrait or landscape then the controls appear for like 5sec (it varies) and then it crashes back to my phone's menu.
I have the Iphone 3g and have tried setting permission to 775 and stuff like that.

This might seem pointless to say but im having the same problem that the rest of u are haveing the problem is with the emulator the more you ask about it doesnt mean it will come faster the problem is already evident as you can see just wait for the developer to update it if anyone has a better plan i would love to hear it
