I love stats, especially when it comes to websites. So recently I was going through my logs for http://www.zodttd.com when I decided to filter it for apple.com. Boy was I surprised to find out how many Apple employees love to goto an Installer.app repository such as mine! It seems there's quite a few people over at Apple with jailbroken iPhones downloading my applications such as gpSPhone and psx4iphone.

Hah, I don't think Apple considers jailbroken phones as big of a threat as our community thinks. In fact I saw some Apple representative discussing how he thought it was amazing how much is being done on the iPhone already. I think I saw the video on a blog on http://iphonealley.com, two days ago.

Good kick though, never thought an Apple Employee would be messing with this stuff.

Its not that big of a surprise. Id assume some people are required to jailbrake that way they can study whats happening software side to the device..

and if its jailbroken already... well then why not use it?

On an entirely unrelated note, did anyone hear about the new mini-iPod Touch nano - Nike Edition? They're wicked sweet. Me and all the cool people I know are getting at least two, each. You want to be cool, don't you?

Wonderful! I imagine some of the SDK Developers would be poking around your code and other's to see which API's are getting used the most in the real world to help expand the official SDK to cover as much as possible, though I don't see why they'd use Installer.app to do that when your source code is freely available.

I guess they're just bored! I know in Apple Retail it's grounds for instant dismissal if they catch you with a jailbroken iPhone. It's probably not so strict at Cupertino as they don't deal directly with the public there.
